Rosemary's Story

"I've accomplished a lot. I got my 6 year old son back. I'm employed and in a vocational education program for electrical installation. I like to work with my hands. I'd fix something than work behind a desk. This training will give me the chance to learn how electricity works. I won;t be under somebody all the time. Starting pay is $13-14 per hour after I finish school. I stand a good chance of getting into the union after a year of work. As a single parent I want to have a job where I can save to send my son away to college. I don;t want him to have to worry about anything. I want security for my kid.

Crossroads will always be on my list. Whatever happens down the line, if I need some help, they won't turn me away. If I lost my job, Ms. Madar would tell me to come in and help me.

When you look back, you know you've changed. They teach you how to live life of life's terms not your terms. It taught me how to deal with my bosses. I had to learn how to control myself and talk correctly. I can talk to anybody now. They taught me how to get a job, how to dress, how to budget, how to live...

Sometimes it is tough but I'm always looking forward to something now."
